There are several things you can do to get the most out of your bathing time, for more inspiration on how to prepare a relaxing bath look no further, we have some tips that are sure to get you sitting back relaxing, and taking some time out from the outside world.

Essential Oils

If you’re looking for something a little more special than just a bubble bath then purchasing some essential oils is definitely a wise choice. Just be sure to add the oils when the tub is half full as it will disperse a lot better this way. Lavender is recommended for relaxing, it is one of the most popular essential oils used very often by spas for various spa treatments. The ancient herb has been used by healers over the years as a remedy for stress, depression, and anxiety.

Fresh Towels

After you’ve gotten out of the bath you’re going to want to snuggle up in a soft warm towel. We’re not saying go and buy yourself a fresh batch of towels, but ensuring you’ve got a clean freshly washed towel at the ready is pretty important. Go all out! Why not also treat yourself to a pair of spa slippers and a dressing gown too!

Buy a bath pillow

Purchasing a bath pillow is a great idea, especially if you like to spend a good hour or so in the bath. This is great if you're going to be spending an evening bathing - most are relatively easy to blow up and provide you comfort for the duration of your bathtub experience. Sit back relax and close your eyes (don’t fall asleep) and switch your mind off from everything around you - you’ll find that having a pillow will provide you with the comfort to do so.

Posh toiletries

We all have some special toiletries a gift left over from your last Birthday or Christmas perhaps? Well if you’re saving them for a rainy day what’s the point? Get them out and spoil yourself! Bath salts, bath bombs, bubbles, and scrubs, get them out of the cupboard and make good use of them!

Sponge yourself down

Gently sponging yourself down with a nice soft sponge has been proven to help you to relax. If you are one of those people that are often unable to relax then a sponge could be the perfect tool for you, plus you can pretty much get hold of a natural sea sponge from anywhere now! The sponge can buff away any dry skin and help to exfoliate and get rid of any dry patches that may be causing irritation to the skin. You’ll come out of the tub feeling like a new person with soft skin that is smooth like silk.
