Shower Room Suites
A shower room suite takes the bath out of the equation and puts everything into the shower instead. Each suite here pairs a quality enclosure and tray with matched furniture, a toilet and brassware — a complete room designed from the start around showering rather than adapted from a standard bathroom layout. No wasted space where a bath used to be, no awkward gaps, no leftover wall that doesn't do anything. Pick a suite, confirm it fits, and the room is done.
Shower room suites
A shower room works differently to a standard bathroom. There's no bath competing for wall space, no bath panel eating into the floor, no showerhead hanging over a tub as an afterthought. The shower is the room. And when everything is designed around that from the start, the whole space works better — bigger enclosure, more room for furniture, a layout that flows instead of compromises.
What's in a shower room suite?
A typical shower room suite includes a shower enclosure with tray, a toilet, a basin or vanity unit, and often a mirror and heated towel rail. Some suites extend to brassware, a shower valve set and accessories for a fully finished room. The key difference from a standard bathroom suite is that there's no bath — the space and budget that would have gone into a bath goes into a larger, more comfortable shower and better furniture instead.
More shower, more space
Without a bath taking up 1700mm of wall, you can afford a more generous enclosure. A 1200mm sliding door feels spacious where an 800mm quadrant might have been all you could fit alongside a bath. A walk-in panel gives the room an open, airy feel that wouldn't be possible with a bath and a cramped corner shower. The suite takes advantage of this by pairing larger enclosures with furniture that fills the room properly rather than clustering everything along one wall.
Enclosure options within a suite
Different suites offer different shower setups depending on the room shape. Quadrant and offset quadrant enclosures sit in a corner and work well in square or near-square rooms. Sliding door enclosures fit into a recess or against a wall and give you the widest opening. Walk-in wet room panels create the most open feel with a single fixed glass screen and no door. Each suite is configured around a specific enclosure type, so you can choose based on your layout.
Furniture that fills the room
One of the advantages of a shower room is that without a bath, you often have more wall space for furniture. Suites here include vanity units from 600mm to 900mm — wider than you'd typically fit in a bathroom with a bath — plus tall boy storage and in some cases fitted furniture runs. The extra storage capacity means the shower room can function as a proper, self-contained bathroom rather than just a shower with a toilet next to it.
Who is a shower room for?
Shower rooms suit a lot of situations. A household that never uses the bath. A loft conversion where a bath won't fit through the hatch. A spare bedroom conversion where you want to add value. A ground floor utility area that could become a second bathroom. An older family member who finds stepping into a bath difficult. The common thread is that the shower is the priority, and the room is better served by giving it the space a bath would have taken.
Choosing between shower room suites
Start with your room dimensions and the position of the door and window. That determines where the enclosure goes (usually the wall furthest from the door), where the furniture sits (usually the wall opposite or adjacent), and how much space you have for each. Then choose a style — modern, industrial, Japandi, traditional — and a brassware finish. The suite handles the rest.
Need help planning your shower room?
A shower room layout is often simpler than a full bathroom because there are fewer pieces to position. But getting the enclosure size, door type and furniture balance right still matters. Call us on 0121 753 0700 or visit our Birmingham showroom with your room measurements and we'll help you find a suite that makes the most of the space.
Most suites include a shower enclosure with tray, a toilet, a basin or vanity unit, and a mirror. Some suites also include a shower valve and handset, taps, a heated towel rail and accessories. Check each suite's product page for the full breakdown.
A functional shower room can work in a space as small as 1.5m x 1.8m — enough for a compact enclosure, a vanity and a toilet. Larger rooms from 2m x 2.5m give you room for a bigger enclosure and more furniture. The layout matters as much as the total area — a long narrow room works differently to a square one.
It can be, because you're not paying for a bath, bath panels, bath taps and a bath screen. That saving often means you can put more budget into a better enclosure, better furniture or a higher spec shower valve — upgrading the things you'll actually use every day.
It depends on your room shape. Quadrant enclosures fit corners and work in square rooms. Sliding doors fit recesses and give the widest entry. Walk-in panels create the most open feel but need good drainage. Consider where your door and window are and how much floor space you want left for furniture.
Yes. Several of our suites feature walk-in wet room panels instead of enclosed cubicles. These create a more open, spacious feel and are easier to clean. You'll need a low-profile tray with proper drainage or a fully tanked floor.
Some do, some don't. Suites that include a shower valve and handset will say so on the product page. Where they're not included, we can recommend a valve and shower set that matches the suite's style and brassware finish.
Most suites include a vanity unit from 600mm to 900mm with an integrated basin. Some also include a tall boy storage unit, a mirror cabinet or a fitted furniture run. Without a bath in the room, there's usually more wall space available for furniture than in a standard bathroom.
Yes, particularly for families who rarely use a bath. A shower room with a thermostatic valve keeps the temperature safe for children, and a larger enclosure is more comfortable for bathing young children with a handheld shower than a cramped corner cubicle. If you need a bath for small children, consider keeping the bath in the main family bathroom and using the shower room as a secondary bathroom.
Shower room suites come with brassware in chrome, matt black, brushed brass and brushed bronze depending on the range. Check each suite for available options and make sure the shower valve, basin tap and accessories all match.
In most cases, yes. If you prefer a different enclosure size, vanity width or toilet style, we can usually adjust the package to suit. Call us on 0121 753 0700 to discuss your requirements.
