How to apply

Online

Select the finance option on the checkout page, complete the online application form with your personal details, and we'll do the rest. The process takes a few minutes and is simple and secure. Once approved, you'll be presented with the option to e-sign your finance agreement or print and return it. Your goods will be dispatched once your signed agreement has been received by Novuna Personal Finance.

In store

When you buy from our Birmingham showroom, our team will talk you through what's needed to process a finance application. The process takes just a few minutes. Once approved, you can e-sign your agreement there and then. A copy of your credit agreement will be emailed to you once the e-signature is completed.

Who is eligible to apply?

To apply for finance, you must be over the age of 18, a resident of the United Kingdom who has lived in the UK for the last 12 months or more, and have a personal bank account from which a Direct Debit can be taken. You must also meet one of the following: permanently employed and working a minimum of 16 hours per week, self-employed, retired with an income, on disability allowance, a registered carer, or a homemaker with a co-habiting working partner whose employment details can be provided.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer finance to residents of Eire. Homemakers are not excluded from applying under their own names — however, the employment details of your spouse or partner will be required in order to process your application.

Can I change my Direct Debit details? Yes. Please call Novuna's Customer Service team on 0344 375 5500 to discuss this.

How do I view my balance? The quickest way is to manage your account online. You can create an account or access an existing account at my.novunapersonalfinance.co.uk

Are there any arrangement fees or hidden extras? No. There are no arrangement fees or hidden extras.

How quickly will my finance application be approved? All finance decisions are made within 60 seconds. Once approved, we will contact you during working hours to arrange your order. If your application is referred, Novuna's Underwriting Team will review it and may request further information before making their decision.

Once my application is approved, what happens next? Within minutes of approval, you will be presented with the option to e-sign or print and return your finance agreement. If you e-sign, a PDF of your agreement will be displayed on screen — read it carefully before clicking to agree to the terms. If you choose to print and return, follow the instructions on the covering letter and post the signed document to the address shown. Products will not be allocated to your order until your completed and signed agreement is received by Novuna Personal Finance. Dispatch will follow soon after.

Will I be credit scored? Yes. Credit scoring is the process used by financial services companies to evaluate the credit risk of new applicants. It works by awarding points for each answer on the application form — such as age, income and occupation — together with information from credit reference agencies. This allows consistent decisions and ensures all applicants are treated fairly. Credit scoring does not discriminate on the grounds of sex, race, religion or disability.

If my application is declined, what is the reason? Novuna is unable to provide a single main reason for declining an application. Decisions are usually based on one or a combination of the following: your credit score (every finance company scores differently), adverse credit reference agency information, being considered overcommitted, being under 18, or your existing account performance with other lenders.

What information do credit reference agencies hold about me? Some information is public — for example, the electoral roll, County Court Judgments and bankruptcies. Other lenders may also file information about accounts you hold with them, including payment history and outstanding balances. Any requests for credit where a search has been undertaken will also be filed, although the result of the request is not recorded.

How do I obtain a copy of my credit information? Send a request to the relevant credit reference agency, together with details of all addresses at which you have lived over the last six years:

Experian Limited, Customer Support Centre, PO Box 9000, Nottingham, NG80 7WF Equifax Ltd, Customer Service Centre, PO Box 10036, Leicester, LE3 4FS TransUnion International UK Limited, Consumer Services, PO Box 491, Leeds, LS3 1WZ

The agencies will provide details of information relating to these addresses. If you believe any information is incorrect, you can ask the agency to correct it.

If my application is not successful, can I re-apply? Yes. Circumstances change, and a previous refusal does not mean a further application will automatically be declined. We suggest leaving at least six months between applications.

Can I request delivery to an address other than my home? To safeguard against fraudulent applications, we are only able to deliver goods to the home address of the applicant.

What is APR and rate of interest? The rate of interest is the cost you pay each year to borrow the money, expressed as a percentage. It does not reflect fees or other charges. The APR (Annual Percentage Rate) is a broader measure of the cost of borrowing — it reflects the interest rate and any other charges you pay to get the loan. You can use the APR to compare different credit and loan offers. All lenders are required to tell you what their APR is before you sign an agreement.
