Wet room screen buying guide

The right wet room screen depends on the size of your shower area and how much protection you need from splashes.

Width: a 700mm to 800mm panel suits smaller shower areas, while a 900mm to 1000mm panel gives more splash protection in a larger space.

Flipper panels: a small hinged panel fitted to the end of the screen that can fold in or out, adding protection without narrowing the entrance.

Side panels: add a return panel at right angles to create a walk in corner.

Fit your screen onto a tanked wet room floor or a walk in shower tray, and keep the shower head at the enclosed end.

What is a wet room screen?

A wet room screen is a fixed glass panel that shields the rest of the bathroom from splashes in an open, doorless shower. It is fixed to the wall with a profile and usually steadied with a support bar, and can stand on a tanked wet room floor or a walk in shower tray.

What width wet room screen do I need?

Choose a width that shields the area around your shower head while leaving a comfortable gap to walk in. As a guide, 700mm to 800mm suits smaller spaces and 900mm to 1000mm suits larger showers. The longer the screen, the better it stops splashes.

Do I need a support bar for a wet room panel?

Yes, a support or brace bar is normally needed to hold the free edge of the glass steady. It runs from the top of the panel to the wall or ceiling. Check the product details to see whether the bar is included or sold separately.

How thick is the glass on a wet room screen?

Our wet room screens use toughened safety glass, with the thickness listed on each product page. Thicker glass, such as 8mm or 10mm, feels more solid and suits wider panels.

What is a flipper panel?

A flipper panel is a narrow hinged glass panel that attaches to the end of a wet room screen. It can swing inwards or outwards, giving extra splash protection when you shower and folding back to widen the entrance when you step in or clean.

Can I fit a wet room screen without a wet room floor?

Yes. Many customers fit a wet room screen onto a large walk in shower tray instead of tanking the whole floor. You get the same open look, with the tray containing the water.
