What is a quadrant shower enclosure?

A quadrant shower enclosure fits into the corner of your bathroom, with two straight sides against the walls and a curved glass front. It sits on a matching quadrant tray, and because the front is rounded rather than square, the shower takes up less floor space and feels less imposing in the room. Most quadrants have curved sliding doors, which glide along the glass instead of swinging outwards.

Is a quadrant shower good for a small bathroom?

It's one of the best choices you can make for a smaller space. The curved front cuts away the corner of the shower, giving you more floor space to move around outside it, plus sliding doors don't need any room to open. That makes a quadrant ideal for ensuites, cloakroom showers, and bathrooms where the toilet or basin sits close by. If you'd rather have as much standing room inside the shower as possible, a square shower enclosure keeps its full width right to the front.

What size quadrant shower enclosure do I need?

Measure along each wall from the corner to where you'd like the shower to finish. Our quadrant shower enclosures come in two sizes.

800 x 800mm, a comfortable fit for most ensuites and smaller bathrooms.
900 x 900mm, which gives you a little more room to move without taking over the floor.

If one wall is noticeably longer than the other, an offset quadrant shower enclosure stretches further on one side to make the most of the space. For a low or sloping ceiling, both sizes are also available at 1750mm tall in our reduced height shower doors range.

Do I need a special tray for a quadrant shower enclosure?

Yes. A quadrant enclosure needs a quadrant tray with a curved front edge that matches the shape of the glass. Choose a tray in the same size as your enclosure, and check the product page to make sure the curve of the tray lines up with the enclosure. Should I choose a framed or semi-frameless quadrant?

Both look great, so it's really about the finish you'd like. Our Radiant quadrants have a slim chrome frame that gives the enclosure a crisp, defined outline and keeps the price accessible. Our Odessa quadrants are semi-frameless, with minimal framing around the glass for a lighter, more open look, while coming with a lifetime guarantee. How do I fit a quadrant shower enclosure?

If you're comfortable with a drill and spirit level, fitting a quadrant enclosure is a manageable job for two people. The most important step is getting the tray perfectly level and fully sealed, as a quadrant's curved doors rely on it to slide smoothly and close evenly. Once the tray is in, fix the wall profiles upright, fit the glass and doors, then adjust until the doors meet neatly in the middle.
