What is a square shower enclosure?

A square shower enclosure has the same width and depth, so it sits on a square tray and fits comfortably into a corner. The two walls form the back and one side, while a glass side panel and door complete the front. It's one of the simplest, most practical shapes for an ensuite, cloakroom shower, or smaller family bathroom.

What sizes do square shower enclosures come in?

Our square shower enclosures come in four sizes, so you can match the shower to the space you have.

  • 700 x 700mm, our most compact option, perfect for a small ensuite or cloakroom.
  • 760 x 760mm, a little extra room without taking up much more floor.
  • 800 x 800mm, a popular all-rounder for ensuites and shower rooms.
  • 900 x 900mm, the most spacious square option, with plenty of room to move.

Is a square or quadrant shower enclosure better for a small bathroom?

It depends on what matters most to you. A quadrant shower enclosure has a curved front, which frees up a little floor space outside the shower and softens the look of a tight room. A square enclosure keeps its full width right to the front, so you enjoy more usable space inside the shower for the same size tray. If standing room is your priority, square is usually the better choice.

Can I fit a square shower enclosure without a corner?

Yes. Our 3 sided shower enclosures include a second side panel, so all your shower needs is one flat wall to stand against. They're available in the same 700mm to 900mm sizes with a choice of bifold or pivot doors. If your ceiling is low or sloping, look out for the 760 x 760mm version in our reduced height shower doors range.

What shower tray do I need for a square enclosure?

You'll need a square tray in the same size as your enclosure, so an 800 x 800mm enclosure sits on an 800 x 800mm tray. Choosing the tray and enclosure together means you can be confident everything lines up on fitting day.
