1400mm Baths
Our 1400mm baths provide practical bathing solutions for compact bathrooms, en-suites, and rental properties with limited space. The collection includes straight single-ended baths and 1400mm shower baths, combining bathing and showering functionality. All models feature acrylic construction for strength, heat retention and easy cleaning. Many baths offer optional Beauforte or Carronite reinforcement for enhanced durability, whilst twin grip handles provide extra safety when entering and exiting.
The 1400mm bath length is available in two standard widths:
- 1400 x 700 baths: The most space-efficient option, fitting into tight bathrooms and cloakrooms whilst providing adequate bathing space. This compact footprint makes it ideal for en-suites and petite bathrooms where every centimetre counts.
- 1400 x 800 baths: For shower bath models at 1400mm, the design features a narrower bathing section (typically 600-700mm) with a wider shower area extending to 800-900mm for comfortable standing space.
Our Standard Bath Size Guide explains dimensions in detail to help you measure your space accurately.
1400mm baths sit between small baths at 1200-1300mm and standard sizes at 1600-1700mm. The 1400mm length provides a practical solution for compact bathrooms where 1500mm would feel too long, but 1300mm feels too restrictive.
Compact sizes are best for the tightest spaces, offering 100mm less length. Moving up to 1500mm baths provides more legroom for taller users whilst still maintaining a relatively small footprint. For larger bathrooms, large baths at 1700mm and above provide more spacious bathing, whilst 1900mm baths suit double-ended designs.
1400mm baths accommodate a range of bath styles. Each style maintains the compact footprint suitable for smaller bathrooms whilst offering different aesthetic and functional benefits:
- Straight single-ended 1400mm baths: These feature a traditional rectangular shape with one sloped end for comfortable reclining. The straightforward design fits neatly against bathroom walls, making installation simple and panels readily available.
- 1400mm shower baths: These feature L-shaped or P-shaped designs with wider sections for standing whilst showering. Shower baths maintain the compact footprint suitable for smaller bathrooms whilst offering different aesthetic and functional benefits.
- 1400mm whirlpool baths: Some models offer optional whirlpool bath systems, including built-in massage jets for hydro-therapy benefits. Models can accommodate 6, 10 or 14 jets depending on configuration, with optional back and foot jets.

Yes! Many 1400mm baths work well as shower baths. Dedicated shower bath models feature L-shaped or P-shaped designs with a wider section at one end, providing standing room for comfortable showering. As well, straight 1400mm baths can also accommodate showering with a suitable screen or curtain, though the narrower width means less standing space than purpose-built shower baths.
For dual functionality in compact bathrooms, dedicated shower bath designs offer the best experience. Our Best Shower Baths guide recommends top models.
Yes! Many 1400mm baths include optional twin grip handles. These handles are typically positioned on the bath sides near the sloped end, providing secure handholds when entering or exiting. Grips benefit elderly users, those with mobility concerns, and anyone wanting extra stability. The handles integrate into the bath design without protruding excessively. Most models offer grips as standard or optional extras, depending on the range. Check individual product specifications to confirm grip availability.
Our 1400mm baths use high-quality acrylic construction as standard. The 5mm acrylic thickness provides strength whilst remaining lightweight for easier installation. Acrylic retains heat more effectively, keeping bathwater warmer for longer than steel and cast iron bathtubs. The smooth, non-porous surface resists bacteria and cleans easily.
1400mm baths also offer optional reinforcement with Beauforte reinforced acrylic adding an extra strengthening layer offering 45% more durability, whilst Carronite baths feature a special composite material providing exceptional strength.
Most straight 1400mm baths require front and end bath panels to cover the sides and create a finished appearance. Standard front panels at 1400mm and end panels at 700mm match these bath dimensions.
The panels clip or screw into position and can be removed for access to plumbing underneath. Additional accessories include bath wastes for drainage, deck- or wall-mounted taps, and optional bath screens or shower curtains if you plan to shower over the bath. Our What Accessories Do I Need to Buy Along with a Bath guide covers essential items, whilst How Bath Panels Work explains installation.
Acrylic baths typically carry 10-25 year guarantees, with Beauforte reinforced models offering up to 30 years. Carronite reinforcement often includes 30-year guarantees reflecting the enhanced durability.
Installation requires proper floor support to handle the combined weight of water, bath and bather. Baths sit on adjustable legs included with most models, positioned level and secure. For straight baths, position tight against walls with panels covering the exposed sides. For comprehensive step-by-step installation guidance, read our guide on Buying and Installing a New Bath.
