Bathroom Basins & Sinks
Bathroom Basins or Wash Basin Sinks are a necessary part of any Bathroom. At Bathroom City, we have Basin Sink designs to suit different customer tastes (modern, traditional, contemporary) as well as different budgets. Our small bathroom basins are fantastic value for money and are guaranteed to last you a long time. For some helpful guidance on understanding & deciding the right Basin Sink Unit for your Bathroom, please read our comprehensive Basin Buyers Guide.
Superior Quality
As one of the oldest Bathroom Furniture Specialists in the UK, we keep product quality at the front and center of all our Basin Sink designs. We manufacture our own Bathroom Basins as well as stock products from some of the best UK Bathroom suppliers such as Pelipal, Heritage, and more. Most of our small and large bathroom basin sinks come with guarantees ranging from 1 year to 25 years.
Different types of basins include:
- Full Pedestal Basin - This ceramic basin comes with a full-size pedestal. The pedestal conceals the water inlet pipes and waste outlet pipes. It is one of the most popular basins sold in the UK.
- Semi Pedestal Basin - Designed to be wall-hung, this basin type features a smaller, half-sized pedestal to conceal the waste pipe. Use a semi-pedestal basin only when your waste pipe exits through the wall beneath the basin.
- Wall Hung Basin (Floating Sink) - This wall-mounted basin offers a minimalist, space-saving design, ideal for small to mid-sized bathrooms. It attaches directly to the wall with a Fischer bolt fixing kit (available at any DIY store).
- Countertop Sink Basin - This bathroom sink sits on top of a countertop or vanity unit. It is available with or without tap holes and offers a modern, glamorous look for contemporary bathrooms.
- Recessed basins - There are two versions of Recessed basins:
- Semi-Recessed - This basin partially sits within a cabinet, extending outward to maximise floor space.
- Fully Recessed (Inset Basins) - This basin is installed flush with the vanity unit top, concealing the entire basin except for the rim.
Most bathroom sinks are made from ceramic, but materials like porcelain, glass, and natural stone are also available. Each material offers different design and durability features.
For example, a natural stone basin can be a great addition to your bathroom space. This beautiful basin type is handcrafted from a single piece of stone, giving each one a unique character. Pairing them with a stylish modern tap can further elevate the aesthetic of your bathroom.
Wash basins come in a variety of sizes to suit different bathroom designs and space requirements.
Standard basin widths range from 400mm to 600mm. Larger basins, up to 1000mm wide, are suitable for spacious bathrooms. They offer ample space for two people simultaneously, making them ideal for family bathrooms.
Important factors to consider when buying a basin: Bathroom size, plumbing setup, and style preferences. For smaller spaces, wall-hung or semi-recessed basins are ideal.
Larger bathrooms may benefit from countertop sinks or freestanding vanity units with basin.
