Cloakroom Basins
Cloakroom basins are designed for the smallest rooms in the house: downstairs toilets, under-stairs WCs and compact en-suites where every centimetre counts. Widths start at just 330mm, and slim, shallow bowls keep the sink out of the way of the door and the toilet.
Choose a compact wall hung basin to free up floor space, a small countertop or inset basin to sit on a slim unit or shelf, or a round bowl in matt black for a more striking downstairs loo. Most take a single mini or mono basin tap; pair with one of our small basin taps.

Cloakroom basin buying guide
Fitting a basin into a downstairs toilet or tiny en-suite is mostly a question of a few centimetres. These answers cover the sizes to look for, wall hung versus countertop styles, and the taps that suit a small bowl.
What size is a cloakroom basin?
Cloakroom basins are generally 500mm wide or less, with the smallest around 330mm. Depth from front to back is the figure to watch in a narrow downstairs toilet: a slim basin of 250-300mm deep leaves room to move past it, while 350-400mm feels more like a normal bathroom sink. Measure the space beside the toilet and the swing of the door before choosing.
Wall hung or countertop cloakroom basin?
A wall hung cloakroom basin is the most space-saving option and keeps the floor clear for cleaning, but the pipework is on show unless you fit a bottle trap. A small countertop or inset basin sits on a slim vanity unit or shelf, hiding the pipes and giving you a little storage. If you want the unit and basin together, see our cloakroom vanity units.
What tap fits a small cloakroom basin?
Most cloakroom basins have a single tap hole, so a mini or mono basin mixer is the usual choice; a full-size tap can look oversized and splash on a shallow bowl. For a countertop bowl use a tall basin mixer or a wall-mounted tap. Our small basin taps collection is sized for these basins.
