What sizes do your white freestanding baths come in?

Lengths run 1600mm, 1655mm, 1680mm and 1700mm, in widths from 740mm to 800mm. Those odd numbers are worth noting. A freestanding bath doesn't need to fit an alcove, so manufacturers aren't tied to the standard 100mm steps, and a 1655mm bath will sit differently in a room than a 1700mm one. How much floor space does a freestanding bath need?

The footprint plus at least 100mm on every open side, so you can clean around it and so it reads as freestanding instead of wedged in. Add roughly 200mm square beside the bath if you're using a floor mounted tap. One honest note on family bathrooms: freestanding baths are harder for small children to climb into, and the open sides mean more water reaches the floor. If you're bathing toddlers daily, a panelled bath is the more practical choice for now.

What shapes of white freestanding bath do you offer?

Three distinct types. The Chester boat baths sit on a solid plinth rather than feet, which hides the pipework and gives a heavier, more grounded look. The Grove is a slim back to wall design for rooms that can't give up space on all four sides. The Hartwell is a freestanding shower bath, which is an unusual thing to find. The Alani, Valencia and Verone are contemporary designs with their own profiles, so have a proper look at the photography on each product page. Can you shower over a freestanding bath?

Most freestanding baths aren't built for it, because the curved sides and narrow rim leave nowhere sensible to stand or fit a screen. The Hartwell at 1700 x 750mm is the exception here, designed as a freestanding shower bath from the start. What are they made from and how do I keep the white looking new?

Acrylic. It's warm against the skin, holds heat well through a long soak, and is light enough to carry upstairs without a crew. Clean it with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive bathroom cleaner, rinse after use so product residue doesn't build up, and keep bleach and scouring pads away from it. Minor scratches come out with an acrylic repair kit, which is one of the quiet advantages acrylic has over steel.
