What height is a reduced height shower door?

All of our reduced height shower doors and enclosures stand at 1750mm, compared with 1900mm to 2000mm for our standard models. That gives you up to 250mm of extra headroom to play with. Best of all, the width and depth stay exactly the same, so you still enjoy a full-sized showering space inside.

How do I measure a low ceiling for a shower enclosure?

Measuring properly now saves you worry later. Start at the floor and measure up to the lowest point of the ceiling directly above where your tray will sit. If your ceiling slopes, take a reading at the front and the back, and work from the lower of the two. Take away the height of your tray, and the enclosure needs to fit comfortably in the space that's left. When every millimetre matters, a low profile shower tray helps you keep as much headroom as possible.

Which reduced height shower door is right for my space?

There's a design to suit almost every layout, so it's simply a case of matching the door to your room.

Sliding doors in 1000mm and 1200mm widths are ideal for longer recesses, as they open without needing any space in front.
Pivot doors from 700mm to 900mm swing both ways, making life easier in a narrow shower room.
Bifold doors from 700mm to 900mm fold neatly back on themselves, perfect when a toilet or basin sits close to the shower.
Quadrant and offset quadrant enclosures tuck into a corner with a gentle curved front, in sizes from 800 x 800mm up to 1200 x 900mm.

Can I turn a reduced height door into a corner enclosure?

You certainly can. Pair any door with one of our reduced height side panels, and a single door becomes a two-sided corner enclosure. The panels come in widths to match each door, so you can mix sizes (a 900mm door with a 760mm panel, for example) to suit a rectangular space. It's worth checking the product page for which way the door can be hung before you order.

Do reduced height shower doors need a special shower tray?

Not at all. Our reduced height doors use the same tray sizes as standard enclosures, so any of our shower trays in the matching size will fit. The one thing to keep an eye on is tray height. A raised shower tray lifts the whole enclosure higher, which can eat into headroom you'd rather keep. If your waste pipe runs beneath the floor, a low profile tray keeps everything as low as possible.

Is a reduced height shower a good choice for a loft conversion?

It's one of the best choices you can make. Loft bathrooms often sit beneath a sloping roofline, and a 1750mm enclosure means you can enjoy a proper shower there, instead of making do with a bath and hand shower.
