What is the difference between a bath filler and a bath shower mixer?

A bath filler only fills the bath. A bath shower mixer adds a diverter and a handheld shower on a hose, so you can rinse hair or clean the bath as well as fill it. If you already have a separate shower, a bath filler is usually all you need.

How many tap holes does a bath filler need?

Most deck mounted bath fillers need two tap holes, one for the hot and one for the cold supply. Check your bath before you buy: if it has one or no tap holes, you may need a wall mounted tap or a different bath.
