Width measurements typically range from 700mm for single ended styles to 900mm or wider for double ended designs, where the tap position sits centrally. Depth affects water capacity and immersion level. Standard depths around 400mm to 500mm suit most users, while super deep models approaching 600mm provide fuller submersion for therapeutic soaking.

What Types of Baths Can I Choose From?

Straight baths have parallel sides and a rectangular footprint, sitting flush against walls in a standard alcove. They're the most common by far, available as single ended or double ended designs.
Shower baths widen at one end to give you standing room, in L-shaped, P-shaped and J-shaped profiles, while the main tub keeps normal bathing dimensions.

What Materials Are Bathtubs Made From?

Acrylic, across the range. It's formed from vacuum-moulded thermoplastic sheet with a reinforced underside, and it's the material most modern baths are built from for good reason. It's warm against the skin from the moment you get in, holds heat well through a long soak, and is light enough that two people can carry it upstairs without a crew. Scratches come out with a repair kit, which enamelled steel can't offer. Several of our baths use reinforced acrylic for extra rigidity underfoot. Which Bathtub Style Should I Choose?

Modern baths feature clean geometric lines, minimalist profiles and contemporary finishes. Straight edges, squared corners and slim rims characterise modern styling. These suit bathrooms with frameless shower enclosures, wall hung sanitaryware and sleek furniture.

Most straight baths accommodate standard bath screens, including hinged single-panel screens and square options that contain shower spray whilst allowing bathing access. Shower baths typically include purpose-designed screens matching their L-shaped or P-shaped profiles.

Bath panels conceal the bath underside and plumbing. Front panels run along the bath's length, whilst end panels cover the visible end. Panels attach via adjustable frames that accommodate slight size variations, available in white, wood-effect and coloured finishes to match your bathroom scheme.

How Do I Install a Bath?

Bath installation varies by type. Generally, it requires levelling the bath frame using adjustable feet, connecting waste assemblies to drainage pipes, securing the bath to walls with brackets, and applying silicone sealant along wall-adjacent edges to prevent water ingress.

Straight baths that fit against walls are typically installed within alcoves and need bath panels to conceal the underside. Freestanding baths need a complete floor finish and enough clearance from walls for easy cleaning access.
